Colts lose LB D'Qwell Jackson to four-game PED suspension

The Indianapolis Colts will be without their leading tackler for the final four games of the regular season, as the NFL announced linebacker D’Qwell Jackson has been suspended without pay under the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Jackson, who is 33 years old, had started all 12 games for the Colts, with 78 total tackles. He also has three pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries and a sack this year. He can return to the team’s roster on Jan. 2, the day after Indianapolis’ regular-season finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
A Pro Bowler in 2014, Jackson’s first-half interception in the AFC championship game that same year sparked the saga known as deflate-gate: Jackson brought the football to the sideline as a souvenir and Colts equipment workers tested the PSI level of the football, saw it was under the NFL-mandated threshold, and told team officials, who got the NFL involved.
