Quarterback Marcus Mariota has had a lot of promising days in two years with the Tennessee Titans. One thing he has not shown is the ability to stay healthy through a full season.
Mariota was dragged down from behind for a sack, suffered a broken fibula and is out for the season, head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters after the Titans lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 38-17, on Saturday.
Tennessee came into Week 16 with hopes of winning the AFC South, mostly because of how well Mariota has played this season. Mariota had 3,327 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions coming into Saturday’s game.
Mariota has had injury issues both of his NFL seasons. He missed four games last season, and his season ended prematurely due to a knee injury.
