The Yankees announced on Tuesday that the club acquired pitcher Nick Goody to the Indians for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Goody, 25, had been designated for assignment by the Yankees last week to create roster space for Aroldis Chapman. The right-hander has a 4.67 ERA with a 37/15 K/BB ratio over 34 2/3 career innings in the majors.
For the Indians, Goody is a low-risk flier who will, at the very least, provide some bullpen depth.
