After throwing with Gisele, Tom Brady recruits an ex-teammate to practice with

Apparently, Wes Welker is a better receiver than Gisele Bundchen.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady posted a picture of him throwing to his supermodel wife Gisele last week, the first week of his four-game suspension. Welker, who played with Brady in New England and has 903 career catches, called Brady to see if he wanted to get dinner this weekend. Brady had other plans.
Welker, via the Boston Globe, said on 560 WQAM in Miami that he asked Brady about dinner and before he knew it Brady was talking him into a practice session.
“I hit him up to do dinner Saturday night. He’s like, ‘I’m going to be flying in from Ann Arbor later, but how about that morning we go throw?’” Welker said on WQAM, when he was guest co-hosting on a show. “And I’m just sitting there, I’m like, ‘I was just thinking about dinner, but yeah, sure. I’ll get over there early and we can throw a little bit.”
This exile has to be driving Brady crazy. He’s famous for being obsessed with football. He also needs to stay sharp for his return in Week 5, but can’t be around the Patriots facilities. It’s surprising he didn’t ask Welker to move in for the next three weeks. He probably runs the whip route a little crisper than Gisele or Brady’s kids.
“That’s the only thing we really have planned,” Welker said. “It’s just funny. I’m sitting there trying to have dinner. ‘Hey, get your (expletive) up here and let’s go throw.’ I’m like, ‘Aw jeez, man.’ He’s going to have me running like 2-minute drill in his backyard or something.”
Welker, who hasn’t officially retired after playing with the St. Louis Rams last season, said he’ll be bringing his cleats up to New England this weekend. And he said he and Brady still haven’t made the dinner plans he called Brady about.
