Wisconsin makes change at QB for Michigan State game

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported the news on Sunday and Hornibrook himself (perhaps mistakenly) told reporters Tuesday that he “heard” he’d be starting in East Lansing against No. 8 Michigan State.
On Thursday night’s episode of “Badger Breakdown,” a show from the school’s athletics site, it was revealed that Hornibrook will indeed start over Bart Houston.
Houston, a fifth-year senior, started the first three games of the year for the No. 11 Badgers but the offense struggled with him under center last week against Georgia State. Hornibrook, a redshirt freshman, came off the bench in the second half (with the Badgers leading just 6-3) and helped the offense get going. He led two touchdown drives in an eventual 23-17 win.
Hornibrook also saw action in Week 2 vs. Akron. Overall, he has completed 13-of-17 passes for 183 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He and Houston battled throughout fall camp, and UW coach Paul Chryst said throughout the week (without saying Hornibrook would start) that he wants both guys to be ready.
Houston has thrown for 527 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for the 3-0 Badgers, including leading the Badgers to a season-opening upset over LSU at Lambeau Field.
Saturday’s game at Spartan Stadium kicks off at noon.
