Ex-Dodgers catcher 'excited about new opportunity' with Giants

Trevor Brown has entrenched himself as the Giants' backup catcher, but that hasn't stopped the team from inviting a veteran backstop to spring training.
Tim Federowicz, who played parts of four seasons with the Dodgers, indicated on Twitter on Tuesday that he has signed a deal with the Giants and will attend Spring Training with the club.
"Very excited about my new opportunity with the @SFGiants. Spring training can't come soon enough," Federowicz wrote.
The 29-year-old Federowicz appeared in 89 games with the Dodgers from 2011-2014. In 2016, he played in 17 games for the World Series champion Cubs.
In 106 career games, Federowicz has hit .194/.243/.295 with 13 doubles, five home runs and 25 RBI.
