The Braves have signed lefty reliever Eric O'Flaherty to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, SB Nation’s Chris Cotillo reports.
O’Flaherty, 31, had a rough 2016 campaign. He logged only 28 2/3 innings and mustered a 6.91 ERA with a 22/11 K/BB ratio. The lefty underwent a season-ending cleanup procedure on his left elbow in August after having missed some time in June and July with a knee injury.
The Braves don’t have a ton of left-handed depth in the bullpen, so O’Flaherty has a decent shot at making the 25-man roster if he has a solid spring showing.
