Brad Ziegler has agreed to a two-year, $16 million contract with the Miami Marlins. That’s . . . a pretty good bargain? At least given where the reliever market has gone this winter.
Ziegler split 2016 between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Boston Red Sox, posting an ERA of 2.25 with a K/BB ratio of 58/26 in 68 innings in 69 games while saving 22 games. He’s been a substantially above average reliever over his nine big league seasons.
The Marlins bullpen is looking pretty good heading into 2017, with Ziegler joining Junichi Tazawa and Kyle Barraclough in front of closer A.J. Ramos.
