Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings showed off his slapshot in the “Average Andy” segment of The Ellen Show.

There are a number of jobs that can be done well by the average human being picked off the street. Most of us would be capable movie extras, sign twirlers, or water slide supervisors if given the opportunity.
Unsurprisingly, being an NHL goaltender does not fall into the bucket of “jobs anyone can do” as one of the producers of The Ellen Show recently discovered.
For a segment entitled “Average Andy,” executive producer Andy Lassner headed down to the rink to get in some practice with the Los Angeles Kings. At first, it was a run-of-the-mill example of a middle-aged man’s lack of athleticism with some boilerplate hockey chirps thrown in.
Things took a bit of a turn later in the segment as Kings players – Anze Kopitar, Tyler Toffoli, and Trevor Lewis – decided to pelt the unsuspecting producer with a hailstorm of clappers, giving the audience at home a terrifying window into the life of an NHL netminder.
