Tim Tebow suffers apparent leg injury during Arizona Fall League game

Mets minor league outfielder Tim Tebow, playing for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall league, suffered an apparent leg injury during a game on Monday afternoon, minor league photographer Bill Mitchell reports. With a runner on first base and one out in the bottom of the fourth inning, Tebow hit into a fielder’s choice 6-4 ground out. During the next at-bat, he attempted to steal second base, but was thrown out to end the inning and appeared to suffer a leg injury in the process.

Tebow did not come back out to play defense the next inning as Aaron Brown replaced him in left field. Tebow ended the afternoon 1-for-2 with a single. The severity of the injury is not yet known, but we should have a better idea in a few hours.

After Monday’s effort, Tebow is currently batting .147 (5-for-34) with a double and two runs scored. Only two players — Danny Mars and Drew Jackson — have a lower OPS than Tebow’s .371 in the AFL.
