Last month, rumors were circulating that world-class Olympics swimmer Michael Phelps got secretly married to Nicole Johnson before the Olympics even started, even though they talked about a "small and intimate wedding" planned for after. On Monday night, Phelps explained that it was all because of Baby Boomer.
"We wanted to try to make it as smooth as we could for [Nicole and Boomer] to travel," the 28-time Olympic medalist told USA Today on Monday night.
The couple had a "small, private ceremony" in their backyard to make Nicole a Phelps before the trip to Rio. "It was small," Phelps added. "It was our closest friends and family there. It was perfect."
So sure, he may have had a grumpface or two during the Olympics, but he was happy as can be.
