Defensive coordinator Dave Aranda will stay with LSU, according to multiple reports.
Aranda has accepted a three-year contract to remain the Tigers’ defensive coordinator under new head coach Ed Orgeron.
During Saturday’s news conference, Orgeron and athletic director Joe Alleva were adamant that one of their first priorities was keeping Aranda on staff.
“We have some great coaches on our staff right now, led by Dave Aranda,” Orgeron said Saturday. “He is the best coordinator in football, and we plan on him being with us. I spoke to him this morning. We’re happy that Dave’s an LSU Tiger, I promise you that.”
Despite some struggles by LSU this season, Arnada’s defense ranked seventh nationally in scoring defense (16.4 PPG) and 12th in total defense (323 YPG).
