General managers Jerry Dipoto of the Seattle Mariners and Mike Hazen of the Arizona Diamondbacks aren’t checking out early for Thanksgiving. Late Wednesday night, the two men came together on a pretty big trade that will see veteran shortstop Jean Segura, along with minor leaguers Mitch Haniger and Zac Curtis, head to Seattle in exchange for starting pitcher Taijuan Walker and infielder Ketel Marte.
Yahoo Sports’ Jeff Passan was the first to report a major deal was close between the two sides. Within minutes of that reports, the Arizona Diamondback made the five-player trade official with an announcement on their Twitter feed.
