Donald Trump knocks 'softer' NFL rules on concussions

It isn’t perfect, but the NFL has been starting to take concussions more seriously in recent years, and this season further steps have been taken in an attempt to ensure that concussed or possibly concussed players don’t return to the field.
But Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump apparently thinks protecting the brains of NFL players makes the league and its players soft.
At a campaign event in Lakeland, Fla. on Wednesday, Trump took a swipe at the NFL as he pointed out a woman who fainted during the event but later returned to the audience.
“The woman was out cold and now she’s coming back,” Trump told the crowd. “See? We don’t go by these new and very much softer NFL rules. Concussion, oh! Oh! Got a little ding on the head, no, no, you can’t play for the rest of the season. Our people are tough!”
Former and even current players dealing with the aftereffects of concussion might disagree.
