Colts hit rock-bottom after blowout loss

ColtsThe NFL is a “what have you done for me lately?” type league. And the Indianapolis Colts have not done anything lately. At all.
Sure their season wins against the Bears, Titans and the Chargers look good, but all three of those teams are at or near the bottom of their divisions. And after the 30-14 home blowout loss to the Chiefs the fact of the matter is that the Colts are not a good football team.
You can try to blame some of this on injuries. Donte Moncrief, T.Y. Hilton, Phillip Dorsett, Dwayne Allen, Vontae Davis, Henry Anderson, Clayton Geathers, TJ Green, Mike Adams, Patrick Robinson, Jack Mewhort, Joe Reitz, Denzelle Good are starters who have all lost time this season. That is just the starters…
However, injuries are not the main problem here. The Colts roster is filled with major holes. And unless Andrew Luck plays perfect or near-percect each week then the Colts will lose.
In a game in which the Chiefs were on the road, playing with their backup quarterback and third string running back they still dominated. At every aspect of the game.
The Colts managed to put up just 277 total yards. Their lowest output this season. Meanwhile, the Chiefs with Nick Foles under center mustard up 422 total yards. All while holding onto the ball for 33 minutes.

Did you really think that was the worst of it? Hardly, Andrew Luck was sacked six times today. The Chiefs had eight total sacks going into the game. Translation? They cannot rush the passer. Luck is on pace to be sacked an absurd 59 times this season.
In a league which quarterback play is more crucial than ever, the Colts continue to find ways to hold Luck back. And this offensive line continues to do that.
Factor that in with a defense that gave up 7 plays over 20 yards today and you are left with this. A team that is in line for a top 10 pick. Not a team headed for the playoffs. Even if they play in the AFC South.
