Les Miles could just sit back and enjoy his buyout money courtesy of of LSU, but he’s not ready to rest on his laurels quite yet.
Miles, 62, has expanded his agency team by hiring Trace Armstrong, who also represents Urban Meyer, Brian Kelly, Tom Herman and James Franklin.
"I'm fighting like heck trying to win a championship at another place,” Miles told The Advocate .
Miles has an impressive resume with a 114-34 record while in Baton Rouge, but his age and old-school coaching approach, which eventually cost him the LSU job, may hinder his chances at another top-flight opportunity.
However, if he doesn’t land another job quickly he should be fine as he’s scheduled to get his first check from his LSU buyout next month. He’s owed $9.6 million over the next six years and will get a paycheck for more than $133,000 on the last day of each month during that time. The only requirement is that he must at least try to get a new job, which would lessen the payments from LSU.
