Cowboys expected to postpone Tony Romo's return

Cowboys expected to postpone Tony Romo's returnTony Romo's return timetable just got a little longer.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday on NFL GameDay Morning that the Cowboys are postponing the veteran quarterback's return until he's completely healthy.
"The original plan was to have Tony Romo come back after the bye against the Eagles on Sunday night," Rapoport said. "I am now told the Cowboys want to make sure Romo is a hundred thousand, million percent ready to go when he is back. So don't be surprised if Dak Prescott starts at least one more game after the bye while they make sure that Romo is ready. So what this means is the Cowboys will delay a decision until they absolutely have to, perhaps allowing Prescott to keep going until Romo gets back in there."
Romo, who is healing from a fracture in his spine suffered in an Aug. 25 preseason game, had hoped to make his regular-season debut Oct. 30 at home against Philadelphia following Dallas' bye week. However, the team hinted Friday he could have to wait another week when the Cowboys visit the Cleveland Browns.
With the team thriving under rookie backup Dak Prescott, the Cowboys are confident they can maintain their consistency while Romo takes the necessary time to rehabilitate back to full health. Prescott has led Dallas to a 4-1 start, already passing for 1,239 yards and adding seven total touchdowns without an interception in his inaugural NFL season.
