Remember when Tim Tebow hit a home run on the first pitch of his professional career in New York Mets instructional camp? Yeah, that was something.
Well, Tebow made his debut in the Arizona Fall League on Tuesday. He’s playing at a higher level now, against legit MLB prospects and, this time, there was no such dynamic debut. It was, in a couple words, not great.
Tebow went 0-3 at the plate for the Scottsdale Scorpions with three groundouts. He also crashed head-first into the outfield wall while trying to catch a flyball.
Then there was this: Tebow hit a ball right in front of the plate and didn’t even run to first. From the looks of the video below, via The Big Lead, you could guess that Tebow didn’t know it was a fair ball.
Nonetheless, doesn’t this sound like the type of game that would cause people to criticize Tebow if his name were Yasiel Puig?
We’re sure Tebow, on the other hand, will be praised for playing hard and will be forgiven for his mistakes because he’s still learning.
