The Chicago Cubs are the favorite to win the World Series, according to Nate Silver's model at FiveThirtyEight.com.
According to the model, which simulates the playoffs thousands of times, the Cubs have a whopping 43% chance to reach the World Series and a 26% chance to be crowned champions. Of course, we don't want to jinx anything, so we should also point out that the model is also saying the Cubs have a 74% of not winning the World Series.
Meanwhile, the Boston Red Sox are the favorite in the American League with a 37% chance to be AL Champs and a 19% chance to win the World Series. The New York Mets and San Francisco Giants are the longest shots, as they each have a 3% chance to win it all.
