Forward Chase Budinger plans to sign with the Phoenix Suns once he clears waivers, league sources told The Vertical.
Budinger is expected to clear waivers Monday after being released by Indiana on Saturday as the Pacers created a roster spot to add free-agent guard Ty Lawson.
The Suns waived guard Sonny Weems on Saturday, league sources said. Weems, who signed a two-year contract in the summer, averaged 2.5 points in 36 games this season.
Budinger, 27, has averaged 8.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in seven NBA seasons with the Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Pacers.
