Royals, Cardinals team up for All-Star Final Vote

(AP Photo)We've joked about the possibility of a Missouri bias in the past, but now our worst fears have actually come true. The Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals have announced an "alliance" for the All-Star Game Final Vote.
That means from now until Friday, you'll see both teams pushing Mike Moustakas and Carlos Martinez for the All-Star Game. Both players are part of the Final Vote.
Given how successful both teams were during the initial All-Star voting phase, this could be the most devastating alliance since Luke and Vader overthrew the Emperor. The Royals and Cardinals combined for six All-Star starters, and would have had more if not for some late surges by Blue Jays and Astros fans.
We've seen this type of thing with the Final Vote in the past. Two teams will get together and decide to combine forces in order to get their players to the All-Star Game. No duo has ever been able to match this tandem, however.
The Royals and Cardinals not only play in the same state, but their fan bases were already rabid about the All-Star Game. This is like LeBron joining Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all over again.
Anyone living outside the state of Missouri can only cower in fear, and hope our new overlords are kind and forgiving. Come Friday, dominance will be asserted, and there's nothing we can do to stop it. Missouri is in charge now.
