Raccoon gets loose in Mets' weight room

Lately, any news related to the New York Mets has been all over the map. From fans freaking out about the team's lineup, to Sunday's incident, when it was revealed that a small raccoon was loose in the team's weight room at Citi Field. What followed was a fairly amusing sequence of reporting and tweets from the team's beat writers, including the critter's safe capture (a cage was apparently on hand as this has been a problem in the past) and release into "the wild." Whatever that means in Queens.
We love dogs, and want more of them in our lives. However, one German pup deserves a red card for its actions during a women's SC Freiburg match over the weekend. The dog got loose during the match and wound up tackling Lina Magull out of nowhere. We'll just go ahead and assume the dog will become the team's lucky mascot the rest of the season. The movie rights are probably already in the works.
We didn't even know there was a Chinese Professional Baseball League until this highlight was brought to our attention by Big League Stew, but we're glad we know now after seeing the juggling catch by an outfielder for the Lamigo Monkeys. After searching in vain to find the player on any official roster released by the team, we're just going to assume they pulled him out of the stands right before the ball was hit his way.
