The Cubs have acquired left-hander Clayton Richard from the Pirates in exchange for cash. Richard hasn't appeared in the Major Leagues since 2013 with the Padres.
He was signed by the Pirates as a free agent during this past offseason, and split this season with Class A Bradenton and Triple-A Indianapolis. In all, Richard made 10 starts in the Pirates' system, going 4-3 with a 1.89 ERA.
Richard is expected to start on Saturday for the Cubs against the Marlins, the Daily Herald reports.
