Eli Manning says Peyton hasn't told him any of his future plans

Even if Eli Manning knew if Peyton Manning planned to retire after Super Bowl 50, let's be honest, he's probably not telling the media about it.
But, we'll trust that Eli is an honest chap, and take him for his word when he says that even he doesn't know if his big brother plans to retire after the season or keep playing.
Eli Manning spoke to a group of media on Wednesday and said he doesn't know one way or another if Peyton will retire. Eli said he has thought about it "possibly" being Peyton's last game, which he has in common with hundreds of millions of football fans. Eli also shares the same vision many others do for Super Bowl 50.
"I hope that he [Peyton] can win this game and if he decides to hang it up, he goes out on top," Manning said, according to the Giants' Twitter feed.
Eli said he will be at Super Bowl 50, as will the whole Manning family. There's probably not much to read into that, as far as Manning's future plans. Eli and Peyton have attended each other's Super Bowls before. The family would be there if they knew this was Peyton's last game or not.
But since Peyton Manning hasn't said anything about his plans, not even to his own brother (so Eli says), we're left to look for clues like Peyton telling Bill Belichick after the AFC championship game that it might be his "last rodeo." It's also possible Manning hasn't made up his mind.
What Eli Manning did stress on Wednesday is that his brother's legacy won't be tied to the result of Super Bowl 50. In many ways that's true. Manning has won five MVPs, four conference championships and does have a Super Bowl ring, something that many of his critics conveniently ignore. It was strange to hear Eli Manning say that rings shouldn't be the sole measure of a quarterback, because while that's true, Eli Manning's Hall-of-Fame debate will be built around the fact he has two Super Bowl rings.
But Eli makes a great point that, win or lose in Super Bowl 50, Peyton Manning will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
"His legacy has already been made," Eli Manning said.
We just don't know for sure if that legacy will continue beyond this season. Eli says he doesn't know the answer to that either.
