NFLPA requests Adrian Peterson's immediate reinstatement

Adrian Peterson remains in limbo on the commissioner's exempt list, where he has resided since September, despite recently agreeing to a plea deal — and avoiding jail time — in his child abuse case in Texas.
Per the report, the union believes the terms of his placement in the exemption list came with an agreement from the NFL that Peterson would be reinstated to active duty once his legal matters were resolved.
Commissioner Roger Goodell is the only man right now who can change Peterson's status, and so far there has been no action on that front despite Peterson agreeing to the plea last week.
If the league drags its feet on the matter, the NFLPA could file an expedited non-injury grievance to have Peterson reinstated immediately. The NFL reportedly wants a series of stipulations met — including evidence from the court case, an independent review of court documents, a recommendation on discipline and a meeting with Goodell — before it rules on Peterson's status. That could end up being a new precedent for Goodell's newly adopted personal conduct policy in regard to domestic abuse.
The NFL might have a different view of the agreement it made with the Minnesota Vikings and the players' union for placing Peterson on paid leave. Expect some movement on this case Monday.
The Vikings are on bye this week and will play their next game against the Chicago Bears.
