The report says Suggs, 33, who attended nearby Arizona State, was booked Friday morning at 2:03 a.m. local time in Scottsdale and then released on citation at 3:21 a.m. TMZ is reporting that Suggs was in a bar at the time of the arrest and that he was "detained for a suspended license."
Another NFL player, the Houston Texans' Jaelen Strong, was recently arrested in Scottsdale.
The Ravens issued a statement saying that Suggs informed them of his arrest:
“Terrell made us aware of the situation and we are looking into it,” Ravens senior vice president of public & community relations Kevin Byrne said.
How about that — the Ravens quoting TMZ in their statement:
And Suggs issued his own statement — on Twitter, naturally:
Last week at the NFL scouting combine, Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome said he spoke with Suggs recently and that he was "progressing well" from the torn Achilles tendon Suggs suffered in Week 1 last season that cost him nearly all of 2015.
