Buddy Hield agrees to deal with Nike

Top NBA prospect Buddy Hield, an All-America guard from Oklahoma, has agreed to a multiyear footwear and apparel endorsement deal with Nike, sources told The Vertical.
The deal was negotiated by his agent, Rob Pelinka, of Landmark Sports.
Hield, a 22-year-old native of the Bahamas and the Big 12 Player of the Year the last two seasons, also won the John R. Wooden Award and Naismith Trophy as college basketball’s best player. Hield is known for his scoring prowess, averaging 25 points on 50 percent shooting during his senior season.
Nike, which earlier this week agreed to terms on a shoe deal with potential top pick Ben Simmons, is looking to formalize shoe deals in the next week with several players expected to be selected at the top of the NBA draft on June 23.
But Nike is facing aggressive competition from adidas, which has ramped up its offers compared to previous years, sources said. Hield is projected to be selected seventh in The Vertical's 2016 mock draft.
