Missouri defensive lineman Harold Brantley was seriously injured in a car crash Sunday when his car swerved off the highway and overturned just outside of Columbia, Mo.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, Brantley was the driver of a 2000 Chrysler Concorde when it traveled off the left side of the highway. Brantley overcorrected, the car then slid off the right side of the highway, hit a guardrail and overturned.
Missouri women’s basketball player Maddie Stock also was in the car. She was treated for minor injuries.
Both were taken from the scene by ambulance. Neither athlete was wearing a seatbelt.
Brantley played in 14 games last season and had five sacks and seven tackles for loss.
