1930 - Baseball Rules Committee revises rule book, ball bounces into stands is no longer a HR, now a double.
1937 - Washington Redskins win the NFL Championship.
1965 - Chicago Bears Gale Sayers scores 6 touchdowns while tying an NFL record.
1966 - US Supreme Court votes 4-3 allowing the Milwaukee Braves to move to Atlanta.
1968 - Arthur Ashe becomes the first black tennis player to be ranked #1.
1981 - Wayne Gretky scores the 50th quickest goal of a season in just his 39th game.
1982 - In a classic Australian Womens Tennis match, Chris Evert beats Martina Navratilova 6-3, 2-6 & 6-3.
1986 - James "Bone Crusher" Smith TKO's WBA champ Tim Witherspoon in Madison Square Garden.
1991 - NJ Nets set NBA record of 22 blocks on the way to defeat the Denver Nuggets 121-81.
