Rams finally announce cuts; Austin Davis among them

After initially declining to announce they’d made the same moves every other team made Saturday, the Rams finally announced their roster cuts Saturday evening.
The Rams cut offensive tackle Isiah Battle, whom they selected in the supplemental draft this summer, and quarterback Austin Davis as part of getting their roster to 53.
The team will still lose the 2016 fifth-round pick it used to select Battle. The release of Davis indicates that rookie quarterback Sean Mannion will make the roster as the No. 3 quarterback behind Nick Foles and Case Keenum.
Also released were defensive end Martin Ifedi, a 2015 seventh-round pick; safety Christian Bryant; center Barrett Jones; tight ends Justice Cunningham and Alex Bayer; running back Malcolm Brown; wide receivers Emory Blake and Daniel Rodriguez; defensive tackles Marcus Forston and Louis Trinca-Pasat; safety Jacob Hagen; cornerbacks Montell Garner, Trovon Reed and Brandon McGee; fullback Zach Laskey; defensive end Matt Longacre; linebacker Marshall McFadden and guard Brandon Washington.
