Rams burn own field with fireworks, delaying start of Steelers game

Have we learned nothing at all from Jason Pierre-Paul et. al. this year, NFL people? DON'T USE FIREWORKS.
The start of Sunday's game in St. Louis between the Rams and the Steelers was delayed briefly because of ... wait for it ... pregame fireworks that burned part of the turf. Yes, really.

Every NFL stadium tries to outdo others with pregame fireworks displays worthy of an old-school AC/DC concert. This one apparently flared up right as the Rams starters were getting introduced. Dome staff brought out fire extinguishers to staunch the flames, then wet-vacs to clean up the extinguisher residue.

About 10 minutes after the game's schedule start time, both teams went back to their locker rooms. Soon afterward, the game kicked off roughly 30 minutes late.
