1929 - Chicago Blackhawks first game at Chicago Stadium, beat Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-1.
1940 - Joe Louis KOs Al McCoy in 6 rounds for Heavyweight boxing title in Chicago.
1945 - Cleveland Rams win NFL Championship.
1962 - NY Giant YA Title sets NFL season touchdown pass record 
at 33 with 6 touchdowns vs Dallas (41-31).
1962 - William "The Refrigerator" Perry, NFL defensive back (Chicago Bears) is born.
1967 - Wilt Chamberlain of NBA Philadelphia 76ers scores 68 points vs Chicago.
