1925 - Record 73,000 pay to watch the Chicago Bears beats the NY Giants 19-7.
1960 - American League grants Gene Autry a franchise in Los Angeles, the Angels.
1968 - Baseball dismisses Commissioner William Eckert after 3 years.
1970 - Cleveland Cavaliers are victorious over the Buffalo Braves, 108-106, in their first NBA home game.
1973 - NL votes to move the San Diego Padres to Washington DC, but the deal falls through.
1988 - Milwaukee Bucks are the second fastest NBA team to win 1,000 games.
