Dale Earnhardt Jr. may be a bit conflicted at Pocono this summer.
His sponsor for the race, Axalta, unveiled the car that Earnhardt Jr. will drive at the 2.5-mile track on June 11. It’s a Philadelphia Eagles car. Earnhardt Jr. is a big Washington Redskins fan.

Junior tweets about Washington a lot and has advocated for a long-term contract for Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins. Washington and Cousins have been unable to come to an agreement (so far) on a deal and the QB is set to play the 2017 season under the franchise tag.
Axalta has run team-themed cars before, though the foray into the pro ranks is unusual. Alex Bowman, subbing for Earnhardt Jr. in 2016, ran a Michigan Wolverines Axalta car at Michigan while Jeff Gordon has run a Penn State Axalta car at Pocono before. We’re sure that if Junior wins at Pocono in the Eagles car that he’ll be quick to point out his win isn’t a sign the Eagles will win the division in 2017.
