ESPN hires David Ross as MLB analyst

Grandpa Rossy has another gig in retirement.
A couple weeks after David Ross was announced last at Cubs Convention as the organization's new special assistant to baseball operations, the affable former catcher now has a job with ESPN as an MLB analyst, as announced Monday morning.
According to ESPN, Ross will provide analysis on SportsCenter, in studio and even join some game broadcasts.
He worked with ESPN as an analyst during the postseason in 2014 and 2015 (after the Cubs were eliminated).
"I'm excited to dive right in and start talking baseball with my new colleagues at ESPN," said David Ross. "It truly is the worldwide leader in sports and I'm grateful for the opportunity to join this incredible team. We're going to have a lot of fun this season."
Ross had a lot of fun with the Cubs over the last two years, providing a steadying presence in the locker room for a young core that helped break a 108-year championship drought.
Ross became the oldest player to homer in a World Series Game 7 with his blast off Andrew Miller before he was carried off the field on his teammates' shoulders.
Grandpa Rossy is also working on a book entitled "Teammate: My Life in Baseball," due out this spring.
