You’ve heard all about the heroic athletes at the Rio Olympic Games, the brilliant chargers who have overcome challenges both physical and psychological to stand at the very pinnacle of their sports. What you haven’t heard enough about is the spectators, the bros (or whatever the Brazilian equivalent of “bros” is) who just want to throw back a few drinks, watch some events, and maybe let the Olympic spirit take hold of your very body.
So let’s offer up some love for the spirited fella here who decided to sprint alongside the cyclists during the men’s road race. He keeps up with the leaders for a surprisingly long time before the camera cuts away. There’s no medal for spectators, but if there were, this dude would be in line for the gold.
(Note for the overly literal: we do not endorse anyone interfering in any way with any athletic competition. We also would strongly advise against, say, trying to catch up with some of the boats in the rowing and sailing events. That water’s nasty.)
