Mother Nature wins again: Red Sox-Indians season opener postponed

Mother Nature is showing no mercy on baseball this opening day.
After inclement weather forced the postponement of Monday's Astros-Yankees season opener in New York, we've also learned the Red Sox-Indians matchup in Cleveland will be pushed back until Tuesday thanks to a mix of snow flurries and freezing cold temperatures.

Bad news: Today's has been postponed. Makeup: Tomorrow at 1:10PM. Gates at 11AM.

Yeah, this definitely isn't spring training in Arizona and Florida anymore.

Monday's opener in Cleveland was among the most anticipated games on baseball's loaded opening day slate thanks to an excellent pitching matchup. A pair of former Cy Young award winners were scheduled to face off, with David Price making his Red Sox debut against the Indians' Corey Kluber. That matchup will still happen, but fans will have to wait until Tuesday to see it.
Fortunately, MLB's early season scheduling is flexible enough that opening day postponements aren't a huge hassle in the big picture, but there's only one opening day. It's a huge disappointment when that buzz and that excitement is taken away.
