Skydiver nearly takes out Lions during pregame

Pregame festivities are as much a part of the NFL as cleats and cheerleaders and the national anthem, but a skydiver landing in Minneapolis before the Lions-Vikings game on Sunday became a little too involved in the action, overshooting his target and nearly taking out a swath of Lions on the sideline. Thankfully, no further chaos followed, but the Lions certainly weren't helped by the incident, going on to lose 26-16.
Georgia linebacker Jake Ganus decided the only way to top the Bulldogs' 52-20 win over South Carolina on Saturday was to propose to longtime girlfriend Peyton at midifeld, and luckily for the rest of us, a cameraphone or two were rolling. She said yes, and congrats to the happy couple. It might be wise to register for that College Football Playoff trophy.
The Cowboys lost Tony Romo for about the next 8 weeks despite prevailing 20-10 over their rivals the Philadelphia Eagles, and it was a bitter blow to everyone on the Dallas sideline. Perhaps no one was more upset than Jerry Jones, who told reporters he felt "just about as low as a cripple cricket's ass." It was quite the analogy, both logically and creatively.
