Chris Bosh admitted to Miami hospital for lung tests, Heat say health issue isn't life-threatening

NBA: Miami Heat at Sacramento KingsThe Miami Heat are still awaiting a complete diagnosis on Chris Bosh's health after the All-Star forward was admitted to a hospital Thursday night for reported tests on his lungs.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra stressed to reporters Friday morning in New York that Bosh's health issue isn't life-threatening. "And that's the most important thing," Spoelstra told Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel and other reporters at the Heat's morning shootaround.
Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald had earlier reported that Bosh could miss the rest of the season with blood clots on his lung.
Bosh was admitted to a Miami-area hospital to undergo tests on his lungs on Thursday night according to reports. Bosh had previously dealt with abdominal discomfort during All-Star Weekend but continued with his planned vacation after the festivities and events in New York.
Goodman of the Miami Herald has more details :
Bosh was “under the weather” on Wednesday when he reported to practice, according to Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, and team trainers sent Bosh to see a doctor. He did not attend practice Thursday and was instead admitted to the hospital
Initial tests on Bosh, 30, were inconclusive, according to a team spokesman. An independent source confirmed for the Miami Herald that the initial tests were on Bosh’s lungs. [...]
While in New York over the weekend for the All-Star Game, Bosh complained of pain in his side near his rib cage. He then traveled to Haiti during Carnival with his wife, Adrienne, and Dwyane Wade and Wade’s wife, actress Gabrielle Union.
Asked on Thursday after practice whether Bosh was sick in Haiti, Wade said, “I don’t know if he was sick. I’m not a doctor. I just know he wasn’t feeling good. He wasn’t coughing or throwing up, but he just wasn’t feeling good. So I don’t know when it happened. It could have happened in New York.”
Bosh won Saturday night's Shooting Stars event for the third year in a row and played 11 minutes in Sunday's All-Star Game without appearing in excessive pain. However, it's unclear if he simply toughed it out or saw his condition worsen in the days since.
The Heat face the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday.
