The Packers have dropped three straight games, the latest of which was a blowout loss to the Titans where they allowed 47 points.
Tensions are high in the locker room as frustrations over the losses continue to mount. Team chemistry is an important element to success, and receiver Randall Cobb knows that all too well. That's why he said it's important the team doesn't fall apart, and said something that could be perceived as a shot at Aaron Rodgers.
"We must stick together. That’s the only thing that we can do that’s going to get us wins," Cobb told Packers News. "The more we point fingers, the more that people start doubting us, the worse off we’re going to be. So we just have to stick together and not let the outside noise change what we believe."
The "point fingers" part is something that could be seen as an indirect message to Rodgers. The Packers quarterback has been criticized throughout his career for not taking enough of the blame, and those criticisms have come back around this season.
The most notable moment was after the team's loss to the Colts, when Rodgers blamed his teammates for not having enough energy.
Donald Driver, who played with Rodgers, had this to say about the quarterback last year: "Sometimes you ask Aaron to take the pressure off the guys so we won’t look bad, but he didn’t want to do that. He felt like if you did something bad, you do it. But I think that’s the difference. You want that leadership, and I think sometimes you may not feel like you got it."
To be fair, Rodgers did place the blame on himself after the team's loss to the Titans. Perhaps some of his teammates were honest with him after his Colts comments and said he should accept more responsibility as a leader. And Cobb's comments could just be more proof of that.
