On Sunday, July 17, Puig wore a pair of custom-made cleats with Scully's face and the words "Win for Vin" on the side.
A week later, Puig told the Orange Country Register on Tuesday that he received a letter from Major League Baseball warning him that he'd be fined $5,000 if he wore the cleats again as they do not comply with the uniform code.
A large portion of the shoes are orange, which is not part of the Dodgers' color scheme.

Scully, who is in his 67th year broadcasting Dodgers games, will retire at the end of the 2016 season. His last game is expected to be October 2 in San Francisco.
