Nene agrees to Rockets deal

Nene gives the Rockets frontcourt depth. (AP)Free-agent center Nene has agreed to a one-year, $2.9 million deal – the room mid-level exception – with the Houston Rockets, league sources told The Vertical.
Nene, 33, will add to the Rockets’ frontcourt, complementing the free-agent additions of forward Ryan Anderson and guard Eric Gordon.
The Rockets still want to re-sign restricted free-agent power forward Donatas Motiejunas and find a backup point guard on the open market, sources said.
Nene played 57 games for the Washington Wizards last season, averaging 9.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
He played the first nine seasons of his career with the Denver Nuggets before being traded to Washington in March 2012.
Nene has averaged 12.2 points and 6.5 rebounds for his career.
