Yankees become latest victims of Oakland Coliseum plumbing

(@BryanHoch on Twitter)Let's be honest, it just doesn't feel like baseball season until we hear a good old plumbing story from the Oakland Coliseum.
I guess that made Friday night opening day then. The issues were back in full force, and this time it was the New York Yankees who were left to scurry while plugging their noses.
According to multiple reporters on the scene, crews were working feverishly on Saturday afternoon to fix a leak that developed in the Yankees dugout restroom during Friday night's game. The leak eventually spread into the dugout itself, and as you can probably surmise did not give off the most pleasant scent.
The event is not expected to hamper Saturday's proceedings, but the scene was still quite a mess less than two hours before first pitch.

There's a little issue with the restroom in the visiting dugout...

If you'll pardon the expression, the Oakland Coliseum has become the butt of many jokes over the years because of incidents like this one. Not surprisingly, those jokes have now hit the fan as a result of Friday's leak.

The way they're mopping inside the Yankees dugout, it seems like its turned back into Colosseum
That's actually a valid point. While teams like the Braves and Rangers are set to change locations after absurdly short stays in still functioning facilities, the A's are left to flounder in a relative cesspool amid political agendas and other legal red tape.
Both the A's and MLB say building a new stadium in Oakland is a priority, but there's been no significant movement in years, despite the Oakland Coliseum's obvious decline. Who knows how long it will be until that breakthrough happens, but we do know images like Friday's and Saturday's won't change anything. It's unfortunate, but it's par for the course given the circumstances.
