Warrick Dunn has quietly given 145 homes to single parent families

Remember Warrick Dunn? The former Tampa Bay star was one of the NFL's best running backs for the better part of 10 years, but since then, he's done something with even more impact than anything he ever did on the field. As brought to our attention by Curbed, Dunn's charity has now given away 145 homes to single-parent families since 1997. And when you see the faces of the families when they receive their new homes, you can understand why he's devoted so much to the cause during what has amounted to nearly 20 years of giving. As was the case from the start, he still dedicates each home to the memory of his mother, a police officer killed in the line of duty in 1993, and there's no question that her son has made her proud.
Speaking of NFL running backs with a giving streak in honor of their mothers, DeAngelo Williams is footing the bill for 53 women to get mammograms in North Carolina – one for each year of his mother's life before she lost her battle with breast cancer last year. It's a gesture that takes breast cancer awareness month to the next level, even if the NFL won't let Williams do it on the field by wearing pink year-round, also as a tribute to his mother.
We all got acquainted with Frank Kaminsky's dance moves during Wisconsin's run to the Final Four last year, but just in case you forgot that the big man can break it down, he put on a show for fans and his Charlotte Hornets teammates in China. After seeing his moves, it's no wonder that Charlotte wouldn't let anyone trade for their draft pick.
