Jacob deGrom will cut off his glorious hair after the World Series

Any baseball team that makes the World Series sacrifices quite a bit in order to be there. For example, the New York Mets lost Ruben Tejada to an injury, and have decided to test the limits of Matt Harvey's surgically-repaired arm on their push to win a championship.
The team's biggest loss, however, might come once the World Series is over.

Jacob deGrom says he's cutting his signature flowing hair at the end of the year. "It's driving me nuts," he said.

Whoa! This one is a bombshell. Mets ace Jacob deGrom is going to cut his gorgeous, flowing locks once the season is over. We can't say we saw this coming.
deGrom was once featured on our list of baseball players with the best hair, so it appears we'll need to make some changes at the end of the year.
It seems like deGrom is pretty set in his opinion, but we're hoping maybe he'll reconsider. What if his hair plays a role in the team winning the World Series? It's a long shot, admittedly, but bear with us for a second.
There are two outs in the ninth inning of Game 7. deGrom has a 1-0 lead, but there's a man on third base. Eric Hosmer is at the plate, and he hits a grounder straight up the middle. It looks as if it's going to be a game-tying single, but the ball bounced and gets stuck in deGrom's hair. DeGrom casually plucks it out of the there and throws to first for the final out. The Mets win the World Series, and it's all due to deGrom's luxurious locks.
That could happen, right? OK, fine, it probably won't happen. And, even if it does, we expect deGrom to follow through with his promise. Still, you can't blame us for dreaming here. Most men would kill for that magnificent mane.
