Blackhawks fans were stunned when the team traded 22-year-old Brandon Saad to the Blue Jackets at the end of June. The only thing that eased the pain of seeing one of their young stars go, was the arrival of an even younger one—Marko Dano.
Well, you’re going to have to wait on that one. The Blackhawks announced their roster today and to most everyone’s surprise, the 20-year-old forward was not on it.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
A week ago, Marko Dano was lighting it up on the #Blackhawks top line. Today, he was cut from camp. Wow.— Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) October 2, 2015
The Blackhawks just announced that Marko Dano is among their training camp cuts. He's going to Rockford. That's shocking.— Dan Rosen (@drosennhl) October 2, 2015
I don’t think the Marko Dano demotion is a big deal because he’ll be back up soon enough anyway, but man, I do not understand it atm— Second City Hockey (@2ndCityHockey) October 2, 2015
I think Marko Dano being sent down is more a reflection of how excellent Kyle Baun has been this preseason than on how Dano has played.

Bicks being put on waivers is understandable. Marko Dano going down to the AHL is weird.— Andy (@NotAnttiRaanta) October 2, 2015

Whelp so much for me thinking I'm smart for drafting Marko Dano— Érįć (@trem2303) October 2, 2015
