Photo of Jason Pierre-Paul's hand emerges, and it's not pretty

At long last, photos have emerged of New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul's fireworks-damaged hand, and, well ... man. This is bad.
The New York Daily News got the photos, and they show a greater extent of the damage than we've seen to this point:

EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: First look at Jason Pierre-Paul’s hand without a bandage.

Pierre-Paul had previously appeared only with a bandaged hand, and has been circumspect about the extent of his injury. Earlier this week, posted an Instagram video of his workout, and earlier Thursday, he joked about how the injury would affect him:

I can't think of the last time my index finger got me a sack 😉
Pierre-Paul injured himself while shooting fireworks on July 4. Initial reports had indicated that he had lost his index finger, and more recent reports have suggested significant damage to his thumb and middle finger. He had apparently been sent back to Florida by team officials who got a look at the actual damage. Pierre-Paul continues to work out, but he has no firm return date.
The Giants and Pierre-Paul remain in the midst of contract limbo. While the team had placed a franchise tag on him in the offseason, Pierre-Paul never signed the tender and is, at the moment, unsigned. In theory, the Giants could use another pass rusher, but in reality? It remains to be seen how useful Pierre-Paul will be.
