Bryan Clauson in critical condition after sprint car wreck

Former NASCAR driver Bryan Clauson was injured in a crash at Belleview High Banks Speedway Fairgrounds in Kansas on Saturday night.
Clauson’s car flipped multiple times as he was leading the race and crashed while coming upon lapped traffic. Another car then ran into Clauson’s car as it was upside down on the track in the midget race.

Per reports, it took over 20 minutes for emergency workers to extricate Clauson from the car and he was airlifted to a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska while unconscious but breathing on his own. His family said Sunday that Clauson, 27, was in critical condition.
Bryan was severely injured last night while competing in the Belleville Nationals midget race at Belleville High Banks in Kansas.
Bryan was airlifted to Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska following the accident, where he remains in critical condition and under the care of the medical staff.

Clauson has competed in the past two Indianapolis 500s. In three career starts in the Indy 500, his best finish is 23rd, which he achieved in May.
A former development driver for Chip Ganassi Racing, Clauson made 26 starts in 2007 and 2008 in the Xfinity Series. His best finish came at Kentucky in 2008 when he finished fifth.
