Being coached by Duke's Mike Krzyzewski is becoming a Robinson family tradition. Justin Robinson, son of Hall of Famer David 'The Admiral' Robinson, will be heading to Duke next year as a preferred walk-on on the basketball team.
His father played for Coach K on the 1992 Dream Team and has called the coach one of his heroes.
The younger Robinson was accepted to the school during the early admission period.
“I’m happy to get early decision from Duke since it is so amazing academically,” he told 247Sports in a text message. “It’s been a long time dream for me. The opportunity to be a preferred walk-on is exciting and I’m looking forward to being a part of the Duke Basketball tradition.”
Justin is a 6-foot-7 power forward at San Antonio (Texas) Christian. His team is 14-4 so far this season.
Robinson's older son, Corey, is a wide receiver on the Notre Dame football team.
