1934 - Female Babe Didrickson pitches hitless inning for Philadelphia A's
in exhibition game against Brooklyn Dodgers.
1945 - Pat Riley, Schenectady NY, NBA coach (Lakers, Knicks, Heat) is born.
1948 - Bobby Orr, Parry Sound, Ontario, HOF NHL defenseman (Boston Bruins) is born.
1962 - Sjoukje Dijkstra becomes world champion figure skater.
1988 - Mike Tyson KOs Tony Tubbs in 2nd Round for heavyweight boxing title.
